Nabeel puts team in semis

LAHORE, June 28: Fine half-century by Nabeel Ali helped Wahdat Eaglets move into semifinals of the second Riaz memorial invitational cricket tournament, beating Chauburji Gymkhana in a thrilling quarterfinal by four runs on Tuesday.

Nabeel scored 59 with seven fours as Wahdat Eaglets could set a meagre winning target of 187 for the rivals in the allotted 40 overs.

Chauburji Gymkhana due to heroic efforts of Nadeem, who scored 81, launched a good fight but they could collect only 182 for nine before the stipulated overs were completed. Nadeem cracked eight fours.

WAHDAT 186 for all, 40 overs (Nabeel Ali 59, Navid Ahmad 27, Khalid Naseer 26; Zeeshan 4-25, Sibtain 3-26).

CHAUBURJI 182 for nine, 40 overs (Nadeem 81).
