NAWABSHAH, June 28: Sindh Minister for Religious Affairs Mir Manzoor Khan Panhwar has said that the Sindh government has submitted a proposal to President Gen Pervez Musharraf to postpone local government elections because the situation in Karachi is not suitable for holding elections.

He was talking to newsmen at the residence of Syed G.M. Shah here on Monday evening.

He said the situation of Karachi after recent terrorist acts and killing of religious leaders was not suitable for local bodies’ elections and for that reason a proposal to postpone local bodies elections was recommmended by the Sindh government.
