KARACHI, June 28: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has ordered the regularization of services of 279 chowkidars (watchmen) of provincial food department, who were appointed on contingent basis some years back.

The chief minister has approved a summery in this regard floated by the food department to create 93 new posts of chowkidars on regular basis at the cost of Rs4.490 million, an official handout stated on Tuesday.

This would solve a long-standing problem of watchmen, serving on the contingent basis throughout the province, who were agitating for their regularization. —PPI
