KARACHI, June 27: Paceman Ata Mohammad captured a five-wicket haul as Karachi defeated Quetta by five wickets in the opening match of the PCB National School Cricket Championship at PCB Academy ground on Monday. Ata took five for 18 in a fiery eight-over spell as Quetta, batting first, were dismissed for 88 despite a defiant 58 off 80 balls by Abdul Razzaq.
Razzaq, the solitary batsman to reach double figures, struck five fours and three sixes.
Karachi reached their target for the loss of five wickets in 21.4 overs. Younis Khan hit an unbeaten 39 with the aid of four boundaries.
Pacer Abdul Karim bowled a fine opening spell to reduce Karachi to 10 for four before a solid fifth-wicket stand of 74 between Younis and Arif Khan (32) saw the hosts through.

Shahzad Khan (41) and Masood Shah (31) also played well for Peshawar.
Earlier, Rawalpindi were bowled out for 147 in 43.2 overs with Yasim Murtaza scoring 39.
