Deadly spell by Babar

KARACHI, June 27: Leg-spinner Babar Saeed produced a match-winning performance to help Zone-VII Greens defeat Zone-V Blues in the opening match of the KCCA under-15 Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the KCCA Stadium on Sunday. Babar captured four for 35 as Zone-V Blues were dismissed for 112 in the 44th over.

Zone-VII Greens reeled off the required runs in the 37th over by making 113 for five. Faizan Qureshi led the way with an undefeated 50, which included five boundaries.

ZONE-V BLUES 112 in 43.3 overs (Raheel Ahmed 28, Mohammad Younis 20; Babar Saeed 4-35); ZONE-VII GREENS 113-5 in 36.1 overs (Faizan Qureshi 50 not out; Ubaidullah 2-20, Mohammad Arsalan 2-31).
