SIALKOT, June 27: Federal Health Minister Muhammad Naseer Khan has come clean that all state-run hospitals, including the DHQ Hospital, and dispensaries in Narowal district have been short of adequate medical facilities for the last four years. Slackness and negligence on the part of authorities concerned of federal and provincial health ministries have been cited as main reasons for missing healthcare facilities in government hospitals for around 2.5 million population of Narowal district.
According to a press release issued here, the federal minister stated this while presiding over a high-level meeting of EDOs of the Buildings department at the Civil Rest House in Narowal on Saturday.
He directed the highups of provincial and federal health ministries to ensure all the wanting medical facilities in government hospitals, including RHCs, BHUs and dispensaries, in Narowal.
The federal health minister gave out that the government had approved the upgradation plan for the Narowal DHQ Hospital. He said that two ambulances and as many airconditioners would be provided to the hospital within the next three months.
