14 killed in Layyah accident

DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 26: Up to 14 people were killed and over two dozen others were injured in a road accident in Layyah on Sunday morning. Reports reaching here said that a Kot Addu-bound bus coming from Lahore collided with a tractor trolley at Khizer Abbas Morr, 30 kilometres from the district headquarters Layyah on Chobara road.

Police said that nine people died on the spot while five others were taken to different hospitals in Layyah, Chowk Azam and Multan where they succumbed to their injuries.

Eleven of the dead were identified as Kulsoom Fatima, Humaira Kiran, Mohammed Waseem, Abdul Rauf, Naureen, Hidayat Hussain, Mohammed Ibrar, Mohammed Anwar, Mohammed Ashraf, Mohammed Sharif and Mohammed Iqbal.

Two of the injured admitted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan were stated to be in critical condition.
