KARACHI, June 26: The provincial government has completed arrangements to hold the local bodies’ election in time and in a peaceful manner. This was stated by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad while speaking at a dinner on the occasion of the national day of Mozambique on Saturday.

He was of the view that some incidents of violence in the city could be attempts to postpone the election, but that will not happen, he maintained.

Ibad said the government was taking measures to control law and order, and all law enforcing agencies had been asked to prepare an integrated line of action for the purpose. He pointed out that the government had arrested 90 per cent of terrorists and miscreants involved in target killings and terrorism.

He also congratulated the Consul General of Mozambique, Khalid Tawab, on his country’s national day, and said the government wanted to further improve relations with all countries.—APP
