Princess J.T.M. II pick of the day
KARACHI, June 25: Princess J.T.M. II, a speedy six-year-old bay mare, starts off as our day’s best when the Summer Gymkhana race meeting gets under way at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
Participating in the fifth race going over five furlongs, Princess J.T.M. II should be followed home by Super Salute and top weight Sonia.
All in all eight events, all going over five furlongs, have been chalked up for the afternoon’s programme. The first race begins at 2-30 p.m.
In the opener, the bay horse Ghori finishing second behind Royal Wisdom last Sunday with a belated flying burst, is our fancy to pick up the spoils, with Raj Kumar finishing second with only seven runners participating in this race.
The bay horse On The Run looks a good thing to triumph in the next event, challenged all the way past the winning post by Quite Arrival and Khush Nazar.
The dark bay mare Silver Sweet from trainer Cajetan Colaco’s yard looks a good thing to run away with the honours in the third after finishing second behind Street Fighter last week.
With only six runners in the field Free Spirit should finish second. But then again, the three-year-old filly Jet Zone could upset the applecart.
Last week Rahil Prince was beaten hands down by Miss Maree, but improving on his last performance, the bay horse is our fancy to win the fourth race from Power Of Tiger and Silver City.
However, danger lurks in the shadows in the form of the bay horse Welcome Pachino.
The same could be said about thoroughbred bay colt Blue Breeze, sprinting home ahead of the stable companion Haseena-e-Arab and Arab Hi Arab.
The thoroughbred dark filly Noor-e-Arab has all the credentials to overpower the rest of the field in the seventh event, with Fantastic Face and Summer Wine joining the fray over the five furlong journey.
But if ticking Cold Furry should trouble the three throughout the five furlong sprint.
In the concluding event, Bahar-e-Arab should gallop home to victory with Sarazen and King Of Arab in close pursuit.
