Probables for camp announced

LAHORE, June 25: Thirty-two probables were selected to attend the training camp being held at the National Hockey Stadium from Friday to finalise and prepare the Punjab team taking part in the All-Pakistan Aj and K hockey tournament. The competition is scheduled to be held at Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir from July 4.

The probables were selected after holding one-day trials at the National Hockey Stadium.

A three-member committee comprising Olympians Rana Mujahid, Navid Alam and international Ikhlaq Usmani and Zahid Iqbal picked up the probables.

Probables:

Goalkeepers: Tahir Bhatti (Vehari), Munir Ahmed (Faisalabad), Jahangir Adil (Gujrat).

Full-backs: Mahmood (Multan), Usman Alvi (Lahore), Azhar Hanif (Sheikhupura), Mohsin Usman (Faisalabad), Zubair Riaz (Lahore), Waqas Aleem (Lahore).

Half-back: Muhammad Abbas (Sheikhupura), Pervaiz Akhtar (Faisalabad), Shahbaz Ahmad (Muzaffargarh), Abbas (Lahore), Ghulam Hussain (Sheikhupura), Kashif Jawad (Sahiwal), Zeeshan Ali (Lahore), Shahid (Okara).

Forwards: Waqar (Sheikhupura), Yasir Shabbir (Faisalabad), Imran Malik (Sheikhupura), Irfan Akram (Multan), Hafiz Zahid (Sargodha), Asif Bilal (Muzaffargarh), Naseer (Sargodha), Shahzad Anjum (Faisalabad), Omer Farooq (Sheikhupura), Hassan Akhtar (Lahore), Muhammad Shakeel (Lahore), Azhar (Gujrat), Shahzad (Mandi Bahauddin), Wajid Ali (Lahore), Mudassar (Gujrat).
