KARACHI: Two bridges, flyover renamed

KARACHI, June 25: The city government on Saturday renamed two more bridges and a flyover as a part of its programme of renaming roads, bridges, flyovers, etc., after renowned national, religious and defence figures. The SITE Bridge has been named after Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, the Yasinabad Bridge after Hazrat Maulana Zakaria and the NIPA Flyover after Maulana Jan Mohammad Abbasi.

Speaking at a ceremony held in this connection here, City Nazim Niamatullah Khan resolved to rename all roads, bridges, flyovers and other such facilities in the city in accordance with the programme. He highlighted the great contribution to humanity from saints in this subcontinent and said their services must be acknowledged.

Later, he unveiled plaques of the bridges and flyover. — PPI
