Graham’s ‘crusade’

By Our Correspondent

NEW YORK, June 25: Billy Graham, the American evangelical preacher, kicked off what calls his final American Crusade at New York’s Flushing Meadows park on Friday night.

Despite illnesses that have diminished his once powerful voice and left him frail, the Rev Billy Graham vowed to preach on each of the three nights set for New York. The Friday rally marked the completion of his six decades of mass meetings.

Rev Graham is suffering from fluid in the brain, prostate cancer and Parkinson’s disease. He uses walker due to a pelvic fracture and is largely confined to his home in Montreat, North Carolina.
