KARACHI, June 24: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, on Friday inaugurated a double section high school for boys in Block-F, North Nazimabad and a mono-technic institute in Block-11, Federal B Area on Friday.
The school project has cost Rs9.50 million while Rs33.87 million were spent on the mono-technic institute.
Mr Niamat on the occasion directed concerned officials to ensure that admissions to these institutions were given on merit.
Talking to journalists, the city nazim said the city government had played a very important role towards improving the quality and promotion of education through various measures.
During the last four years, he pointed out that the city government had established 32 new colleges, eight mono-technic institutes and various schools.
The city government had ensured merit in admissions, increased the budget for education, encouraged teachers and students, and made the school management committees effective, he added.
All that, the nazim said, had brought a significant change in the academic environment and an enhancement in the quality of education.
DRY GARDENS: The city government will develop dry gardens under all the city’s flyovers to make them good looking and encroachment-free.
The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, laid the foundation stone of such projects the other day at the Shaheed-i-Millat, Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad and the NIPA flyovers.—APP
