KARACHI: Problems of industrial areas reviewed


KARACHI, June 24: A high-level meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, was held on Friday to review various problems being faced by industrial estates of Karachi.

Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Muhammad Salim Khan, Secretary Industries Nasir Hayat, District Coordination Officer Karachi Fazlur Rehman, Managing Director SITE Ltd, Chairman SITE Association of Industry (SAI) and other officials attended the meeting.

The meeting stressed the need for co-ordination among departments of federal, provincial and city governments to resolve the issues of four industrial zones of the metropolis - Korangi, Landhi, New Karachi and Federal B Industrial Area - regarding the infrastructure development, repair of dilapidated roads, sewerage lines and drainage.

On current situation of implementation on ‘one window operation’ being carried out three years earlier at SITE industrial area, the SITE Ltd was directed to submit the review report in this regard and present proposals for further improvement.
