Envoy leaves for Kabul tomorrow


ISLAMABAD, June 23: Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Afghanistan Miangul Akbar Zeb will proceed to Kabul on Saturday to take charge of his new assignment. The former ambassador, Rustam Shah Mehmand, relinquished charge on May 30.

Prior to this appointment, Mr Akbar Zeb was serving as ambassador in South Africa.

His arrival in Kabul coincides with the exit of United States Ambassador to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad.—Q.A.
