KARACHI, June 23: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, on Thursday inaugurated and laid foundation stones of a total of nine various schemes in Malir, North Nazimabad, Jamshed and Gulsgan-i-Iqbal towns. The projects inaugurated by the city nazim included a 36-bed hospital in Malir Town, a 25-bed dispensary in 2-C Area Malir and a model park in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town.
While he laid the foundation stones of a park, a digital library in North Nazimabad, a sewerage line from Saudabad Chowrangi to Malir City, Thudddo Pul near Bakra Mandi in Malir, an underpass near the FTC flyover, and the Shah Abdul Qadir Jilani flyover.
The 526 metre long and 10 metre wide underpass near the FTC would be constructed at a cost of Rs121 million and completed in 150 days.
And, the 12,000 feet long sewerage line in Saudabad will cost Rs18 million and will be completed in six months.
The Malir dispensary in 2-C area will cost Rs6 million and will be constructed under the annual development fund.
It will serve as a complete hospital where all treatment facilities will be available including a maternity services.
NEW UTS ROUTE: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, on Thursday said new bus routes were very much required to provide better travelling facilities to the citizens.
He said this while talking to a delegation led by Nazim North Karachi Town Shafiqur Rehman Osmani, who had called on Mr Niamat to thank him for the introduction of a new UTS route.
About 10 new and modern buses with route no UTS-I would start operation from Sector 7-A, Surjani Town and end at Dockyard after passing through the Nagan Chowrangi, Sohrab Goth, Karim Abad, the M.A. Jinnanh Road and Tower.
