ISLAMABAD, June 22: The Pakistan-Afghan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) will meet in Kabul next month to discuss economic cooperation and look at ways of expanding trade between the two countries.
“The next meeting of the JEC will be held in the first half of July and the dates will soon be firmed up through diplomatic channels,” sources told Dawn on Wednesday.
The commission, mandated to meet quarterly, is co-chaired by the top finance managers of the two countries. Its last meeting was held here on Feb 10.
Pakistan’s delegation to the next meeting will be led by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s Finance Adviser Salman Shah. The Afghan side will be led by Finance Minister Anwarul Haq Ahadi.
