NEW DELHI, June 21: India on Tuesday test-fired surface-to-air missile Akash for the third time in five days from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur. The multi-target missile with a striking range of 25km, was test-fired at around 1pm, said a report received from Orissa quoting defence sources.
The missile has a launch weight of 700kg and can carry a payload of 60kg. The trial was conducted to demonstrate its consistency during the entire flight for the army and air force, which were likely to deploy the missile, the sources maintained.—APP
