‘Saddam trial this year’


BRUSSELS, June 21: The trial of Iraq’s former President Saddam Hussein could start this year, Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari said on Tuesday. “The sooner he is brought to justice the better,” he told a news conference. “This will have an impact on the security situation, positively.” He said the Special Tribunal set up to bring Saddam and his aides to trial was working very hard.—Reuters
