Karim double puts PWD in last four

KARACHI, June 19: Two strikes by Karim helped PWD reach National Challenge Cup soccer semifinals after a 2-1 victory over Pakistan Navy at CDGK Stadium on Sunday. Karim slammed home the first in the 30th minute before Navy’s Mohammad Ramzan equalised in the 65th minute. Karim slotted home the winner in the 82nd minute.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) crashed out of the tournament despite a 5-0 win powered by Aftab Ahmad hat trick against Mauripur Baloch.

Aftab struck in the 50th minute, while Zahid Ahmad doubled the lead the next minute. Aftab’s 65th-minute goal was followed by another strike by Zahid in the 80th minute before Aftab completed the tally two minutes later.

Monday’s fixtures: Sindh Government Press v Naka Mohammadan; HBL v KESC.
