KSE member found dead

KARACHI, June 18: A member of the Karachi Stock Exchange, who had gone missing on Saturday afternoon, was found dead in the evening in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. According to police and family sources, Amanullah Marfani left home at around 11am, saying that he would return by 3pm. When he did not return by then, the family got worried and contacted him on his mobile phone which was picked up by a woman.

The unidentified woman told the family that Mr Marfani’s car had been abandoned on University Road. The police and the family later located the car.

Gulshan town SP Asif Aijaz said that attempts were made to establish contact on Mr Marfani’s another mobile phone but it was not attended.

After a while, a call was received from the same mobile phone and the caller said that he had found the phone at the ground near Safari Park.

SP Aijaz said that information collected by police showed Mr Marfani had gone to the A-One Complex. Police reached the residential complex where it was established that Mr Marfani with a woman had visited the complex in his car and remained there for sometime.

Later, police found the body of Mr Marfani at an empty plot in Block-6, Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Mr Aijaz said that Mr Marfani was found gagged and trussed up.

The body was shifted to the JPMC for autopsy where doctors were performing post-mortem examination on it till filing of this report.
