Archaeological sites discovered

PESHAWAR, June 18: The provincial directorate of archaeology and museums has found 92 archaeological sites in the Malakand region, said a press release issued here on Friday. The directorate has started survey in the hilly region and survey teams have visited a vast area and villages, the press release said.

The discovered sites include Gandhara grave, Buddhist Monasteries, stupa, rock paintings, settlement sites and remains of Hindu period.

The rock paintings show figures of stupa models, human and animal representation.
