HARIPUR, June 16: Additional District and Sessions Judge Haripur Mohammad Yousaf Khan on Thursday convicted Mohammad Imran alias Noshi of killing a minor girl and sentenced him to death. He was also fined Rs200,000. The court ruled that the prosecution had proved its case against the accused beyond any reasonable doubt.

According to the prosecution the convict had stoned to death a girl Tehmeena Komal, aged 7 years, in village Makhan on January 6, 1996.

He had later beheaded the corpse which was found wrapped in a sack in a deserted area of the village. The motive behind the murder was an old enmity with the parents of the girl.
