ISLAMABAD, June 16: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will establish department of allied health sciences at the University of Health Sciences, Lahore. A press release issued by the HEC said the project will be completed in 12 months with an amount of Rs33.00 million. It said the project included establishing a department of allied health sciences, enrolment of students, construction of labs, offices etc.
The University of Health Sciences was established with the objective to promoting emerging technologies and strengthening the neglected fields.
The project proposal was presented to the syndicate of the university in its last meeting on May 5 by the vice chancellor. The syndicate had approved the project proposal for establishing the department of allied health sciences to teach MSc Medical Lab Technology initially and later other disciplines such as MSc medical imaging etc.
The resource lab will work directly under the supervision of head of the allied health sciences department and the students will be the overall in charge of the project.
The project will admit students from affiliated medial and allied health institutors of the university. Merit-based admissions would be open to all genders and all classes.
