KARACHI, June 16: Chief Executive Officer of Telecard Limited, operator of WLL service, Fazal Hussain has said that the tax on WLL phone services in the 2005-2006 budget was “most unfortunate,” and such a move would benefit the more expensive GSM sector in the country.

He told a press conference on Thursday that the WLL is a poor man’s phone and the bulk of growth in the telecom sector in the coming year would be from WLL related telephony. Major growth forecast in PTCL connections in the coming year were in WLL services, he said.
