Power supply to three villages cut

By Our Correspondent

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 15: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Tharushah sub-division) disconnected power supply to three villages on Wednesday. Consumers from Zubair Panhwar, Moosa Panhwar and Sadiq Ujjan villages approached the Hesco sub-divisional officer to complain that power supply to their villages had been disconnected despite the fact that they had paid their bills.

They told journalists that the SDO had refused to meet them and had disconnected the power supply.

However, the SDO, when contacted, said that the villagers did not pay their bills and a huge amount was outstanding against them.

PROTEST: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz held a demonstration in Tharushah on Wednesday to protest against razing of the villages of Sindhi-speaking people in Karachi and issuance of national identity cards to foreigners.

Led by Asghar Leghari, Tufail and Suhail Malik, the activists raised slogans against the Sindh government.
