PFUJ, Apnec to hold protests

KARACHI, June 15: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC) will organize protest camps and rallies between June 23 and June 25 at all major newspaper centres to press for implementation of the Seventh Wage Award.

A PFUJ-APNEC press release issued here on Wednesday reiterated its demand that the government should link the issuance of government advertisements with the implementation of the Wage Award.

The press release referred to the protest day planned by the CPNE and APNS on June 25 against the stoppage of government advertisements to some publications and said: “We will not be part of any campaign that only serves the interest of newspaper owners and not of the employees.”
