HYDERABAD, June 15: A bail application was filed on behalf of PPP Parliamentarians MPA Zahid Ali Bhurgari here on Wednesday in an explosives substance case, lodged with Amri police of Jamshoro district. Lawyer Allah Bachayo Soomro has filed the plea which has been fixed for hearing on Thursday.

The case had been filed against unknown persons under section 7-D of Anti-Terrorism Act read with section 3 of Explosive Substance Act 1997 and 425 PPC on the complaint of assistant engineer 500 KV line, Altaf Hussain Memon, following two successive blasts in two pylons of the line, some 20km from police station Amri on June 12.

The complainant said that miscreants had weakened the foundation of two pylons of transmission lines (185/JD and 249/DJ) which provided electricity supply between Dadu-Jamshoro.

The counsel argued in the application that the MPA was arrested in a case in which none of the accused had been nominated. The case was lodged against unidentified saboteurs for their subversive act.

He said that the MPA’s arrest was illegal. He added that no eyewitnesses had been cited in the matter.

The court has also fixed another application for hearing on Thursday which seeks production of the MPA in Sindh Assembly’s budget session.

SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad, has announced the names of successful candidates of assistant collector part-I and II, S.A.S. part-I and II, revenue qualifying, sub-ordinate treasury accounts service (accountant and accounts clerks) and forest officers departmental examinations, held in May 2005.
