KARACHI, June 15: Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Ahmed, along with MPAs Talib Imam, Moin Pirzada and Syed Jarar Hyder Shah, laid the foundation stone for the construction of road from Coast Guard Chowrangi to Chakra Goth, Korangi Town, Sector 2-1/2 here on Wednesday. The 380,160 feet long and 36 feet wide 4-lane road having 5 feet footpaths and 25 feet green belt, will be constructed at a cost of Rs57.50 million and completed by June next.

Some 1.2 to 1.5 million people of Korangi Town Sectors 48-C, D, F, A, H and 41/B, New Noorani Colony, T and Y Areas, Norani Basti, Abdullah Shah Colony, Pak Ittehad Colony, Gilgit Colony and Chakra Goth will benefit with the construction of this road. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Planning and Development said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) believes in practical work and realism and knows that no development is possible without communication facilities.

He pointed out that Sindh Government has allocated a big amount for construction of roads in North Nazimabad, Orangi, Lyari, SITE and Malir Towns and work on them will start soon.—APP
