ISLAMABAD, June 14: Senator Muhammad Enver Baig on Tuesday was angry after an agenda item relating to the financial irregularities within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was dropped ahead of Wednesday’s meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports.

Enver told Dawn that the committee had not received any satisfactory answer from the PCB on the matter.

“The financial wrongdoing that has been going on in the PCB will definitely be discussed in the meeting,” he remarked.

Enver, who has been vocal in his criticism of PCB in the previous meetings, said that the board had also failed to submit the constitution by April 30.

“We are in the middle of June now and the PCB is still dilly-dallying on it.”

Meanwhile, a notice from the Senate Secretariat said: “On a requisition made under rule 163 (4) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 1998, a in-camera meeting” of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports will be held on Wednesday.

The agenda of the meeting will be the briefing by PCB Chairman Shaharyar M. Khan on the new constitution besides any other item that might be allowed by the chair.

Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry is the chairman of the committee.
