Kidnapping, murder case registered

PESHAWAR, June 14: The Matani police have registered a case of kidnapping and murder of two persons, whose bodies were found near the Arat Baba shrine in Adizai village two days ago. Mohabat Khan and his brother-in-law Waheed Ullah, former employees of Pakistan Tobacco Company and residents of Adizai, had been kidnapped for ransom from their village on the night of May 21 and the kidnappers later killed them and threw their bodies in a dry nullah near Arat Baba shrine on Sunday night.

Mohammad Tariq, son of deceased Mohabat Khan, on Monday night formally lodged a complaint with the Matani police against a number of people of their village and nearby semi-autonomous region of Dara Adamkhel.

Those charged in the FIR include Zahid Khan, son of Mohammad Sher; Shamim, son of Taj Mohammad; Arshad, son of Noor Said, all residents of Adizai village of Matani; Rafiq, son of Yaseen, a resident of Kalakhel; Amir Said alias Charg, Fazle Rabbi, Sabz Ali, Haji Baz Gul, Malik Aslam, Malik Khaista Khan, Malik Wali Khan, Malik Khiyal Akbar and Ilyas, residents of Darra Adamkhel.

ACCIDENTS: Three people were killed in road accidents in the city on Tuesday.

Police said that a speeding car ran over woman Hasina and a Land Cruiser jeep killed an unidentified person near Tehkal Payan. Drivers of both the vehicles sped away after killing the pedestrians.

In another accident, a cleaner, Walid Shah, of a passenger van fell from his vehicle on University Road near Spin Jamaat and died on the spot when he came under the rear wheel of the van.

MURDERS: Lal Sher, a resident of Bachakhel in Badhber area, told police that his son Hazrat Sher left his house on Monday night and on Tuesday morning his son’s body was found from the roadside.

He said that he had an enmity with his nephew, but he would charge him in an FIR after confirming his involvement in the murder.
