LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), June 14: At least three people, including nephew of a former MNA, were killed in two incidents of firing here on Tuesday. Families of Malik Saaduddin and Bahadar Khan of Jamrud tehsil have a long standing land dispute. On Monday armed members of the Malik family tried to kidnap Bahadar Khan near Ghundi. During the scuffle, the two sides exchanged fire which resulted in death f Bahadar Khan and his rival Malik Nayab Khan Afridi on the spot.

The firing continued for about half an hour and was brought under control by the political administration. Malik Nayab was a nephew of former Khyber Agency MNA Malik Aliman Shah. The Kukikhel elders have started efforts to negotiate a settlement between the two families.

In another incident, a bullet riddled body of Jan Mohammad was found in a dry stream in Shalobar area of Bara tehsil. The deceased was abducted by relatives of an out law, Khan Wazir, whose bullet riddled body had been found on a road-side some ten days ago.

Khan Wazir’s relatives believed that Jan Mohammad was involved in his killing. Khan Wazir was allegedly involved in killing of the wife, daughter and son of a known out law Juma Baz.
