KARACHI: Ibad calls for computerization of court records
KARACHI, June 14: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Tuesday issued directives for compilation of computerised record of undertrial court cases of various government departments and organizations in the province on priority basis. Speaking at a meeting held at the Governor House, he said early disposal of cases involving disputes would help provide relief to people and augment pace of development in the province.
In order to maintain a better liaison between departments and offices of the advocate-general, it was decided that a Secretary Litigation in the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat would be appointed.
It was informed that Rs 40 million have been earmarked for computerization of AG offices. Implementation of this programme would inter-connect the AG’s Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Islamabad offices through networking.
Governor Ibad issued directives for appointment of Law Officers in the Provincial Board of Revenue.
He directed the City Government to chalk out an effective system for defending their pending cases with the cooperation of Advocate General.
Because of these cases, many of the City Government’s lands and properties are under dispute and their transparent followup would help resolve these disputes, he said. — APP
