KARACHI, June 14: Three ships carrying containers, general cargo and chemicals were berthed at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Berth occupancy remained on higher side at 89 per cent as eight ships, Sealand Express, Dehli, Makran, Viscaya, Pacific Champion, Yu Chen Hsinang, Yanaseni and Minnoble, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, seeds, general cargo, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 40,430 tons comprising 33,549 tons of import cargo and 6,881 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was actives as Dehli, Viscaya, Southern Unicorn, Yanaseni and Pacific Champ left the port while Makran was due to depart.

Athena Sea was expected to take berth at Marginal Wharf, while Isokaze was due to arrive at port.
