KARACHI, June 14: Eight ships carrying containers and to load ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Two other bulk carriers, Myroessa, and Panormos Pride with 27,500 and 25,247 tons of urea arrived on Tuesday and are expected to get berths during the next couple of days.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where four ships, Pu He, Iran Sattari to unload and load containers, Vanda Naree to offload steel and general cargo and Lauren to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Haeng Tai, Sanga, Shalamar and Lauren, while Iran Sattari and Vanda Naree are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 43,924 tons comprising 7,720 tons of export cargo and 36,204 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Y.M. Energy, Hyundai Advance, Kota Wajar, Argonaut, Maersk Arizona, Wester Muehlen and Global Progress, with containers and Jo Lind to load 5,000 tons of molasses.
