QUETTA June 13: Wapda, Army, SSGC and PIA qualified for the semifinals of All-Pakistan Gen Musa Khan Gold Cup hockey here Monday. Ali Raza’s fourth-minute extra time goal helped PIA beat NBP after both sides were deadlocked at 2-2 during stipulated time in the first quarterfinal.
PIA scored their first goal in the 22nd minute when Mohammad Haneef was on target, while Anis equalised for the bankers in the 29th minute.
Anis got his second through penalty corner in the 46th minutes before Nadeem netted the leveller on a penalty stroke in the 49th minute.
Army defeated Customs 4-2 in the second quarterfinal.
Customs took the lead in the 8th minutes through Mohammad Yasser, while Army’s Muneer levelled seven minutes later. Customs made it 2-1 when Hafiz Yasser found the target in the 30th minute, but soldiers again restored parity through Saleem seconds before halftime.
Army added two goals when Mubeen found the net in the 44th minute and Arshed slammed home in 49th minute.
Wapda beat PTCL by 3-1 in the fourth quarter final.
Nadeem found the cage in the 17th minute for Wapda which was equalised in 38th minute by Irfan Ali.
Gohar Rasool and Shahzad added two goals in 47th and 69th minutes
