HYDERABAD, June 13: A widow has appealed to authorities to register an FIR of the murder of her son and restore possession of ancestral property to her family. Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Monday, Hameeda Shaikh, a resident of Shikarpur, claimed that her father, Akhtar Mohammad Shaikh, owned 600 acres of land and five other property in Shikarpur.

She alleged that after the death of her father, Imtiaz Shaikh and Maqbool Shaikh, both sons of her father’s friend Abdul Rehman Shaikh, tampered with records and transferred the property in the names of their henchmen.

She said the court had also given its decision in favour of her family but the possession of the property had not been restored to them.

She alleged that her son, Irfan, had been murdered by Gul Hassan Shaikh and Fida Shaikh on June 5, 2000. She said the former prime minister had directed the IGP of Sindh to register an FIR of the murder but no legal action had been taken in the matter.

She appealed to authorities to take notice of the injustices being committed against her and restore justice to her.

She also distributed copies of the letter from the prime minister’s secretariat, addressed to the IGP.

HYDRO UNION: Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union president Abdul Latif Nizamani has warned that if Wapda employees kidnapped in Shikarpur 17 days ago are not recovered, the protest will be extended to the entire province.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he deplored lawlessness in the interior of Sindh.

He demanded that government employees should be provided with protection in the interior of Sindh.
