KARACHI, June 13: Three ships carrying containers and chemical were allotted berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, two more ships with chemicals and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 78 per cent as seven ships, Camilla Rickmers, Dehli, Makran, Viscaya, Pacific Champion, Southern Unicorn and Minnoble, were busy in loading/offloading containers, rice and edible oil, seeds, chemicals and iron ore.

Cargo handling was brisk as a total tonnage of 73,654 tons comprising 56,945 tons of import cargo and 16,709 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Camilla Rickmers, left the port while Dehli, Viscaya and Southern Unicorn were due to depart.
