Draft law on PR returned

LAHORE, June 13: The federal law ministry has returned the draft law sent to it by the railways ministry for vetting to make the railways a corporation. Sources told Dawn on Sunday that the return of the draft law without approval of the law ministry had made it impossible to change the status of railways according to the schedule.

The government is planning to convert the railways into a state-owned corporation by July 1.

The railways ministry had paid Rs600,000 to a Lahore law firm to prepare the draft law, which was sent back with the observations that it was incomplete. — Staff Reporter
