KHAIRPUR, June 11: Around 50 under-trial prisoners staged a sit-in in the premises of the sessions court here on Saturday when they were brought to the court for hearing of their cases.

As soon as the prisoners got off police vehicles, they started raising slogans against Hesco and police and later staged a sit-in.

Talking to journalists, the prisoners said they were facing hardships due to power load-shedding.

They said there had been four to eight hours load-shedding for the last one week.

They said prisoners Bagan, Suhag, Gulab Jagirani, Ghulam Rasool, Bashir and Mushtaq had fallen unconscious due to the sizzling heat.

They also complained that police did not produce them in courts for hearing of their cases.
