ISLAMABAD, June 11: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday appointed Mohammad Ajmal Mian, a retired justice, as arbitrator to decide the issue of distribution of hydropower profit among the provinces, the federal government and the Water and Power Development Authority. The decision of the arbitrator would be binding on all the parties, said a statement issued by the government.

The decision was taken during a meeting of NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani with the prime minister.

The statement quoted the prime minister as expressing the hope that the decision would solve the issue for all times to come and help create national integration and better understanding between the federal government and the provinces.
