KARACHI, June 11: Deputy convenor of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and its parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, Dr Farooq Sattar deplored the killing of Imran Khan, an activist of Korangi sector on Saturday and urged the President and prime minister, the Governor of Sindh and the chief minister to ensure that the culprits were apprehended and given exemplary punishment.
He spelt this out in a news conference he addressed at Nine-Zero. In charge coordination committee Anwar Alam, Joint in charge Abdul Haseeb and Wasay Jaleel were also present.
Dr Farooq Sattar said on the day when APMSO was celebrating its 27th founding day, it was apparent from the incident that some elements were conspiring to plunge the city into a new phase of bloodbath.
He pointed out that earlier five members of APMSO were killed by the same elements and the APMSO members were enraged over these killings.
Dr Farooq Sattar asked the workers to remain calm and let the matter be tackled according law and the constitution.
He said the MQM was not trying to make political gain out of this gruesome killing although it was of the firm view that the killing was part of a well thought out conspiracy to destroy peace of the city and to derail the process of development and progress.
