KARACHI: Sindh must get due share in NFC: Altaf

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, June 11: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that existence of Pakistan was because of Sindh and demanded that the province should be given its due share in the NFC as it contributed more than 70 per cent of the revenue. Addressing party workers across the province telephonically from London on Friday, Mr Hussain said that Sindh alone contributes 70 per cent of the total revenue generated in Pakistan to the national exchequer and, therefore, urged the President and the Prime Minister to do justice with Sindh by providing its due share through the National Finance Commission Award (NFC) and refrain from undertaking such projects about which Sindh has apprehensions and concerns.

During the charitable programme of Khidmat-i-Khalq, goods worth Rs 2.6 million were distributed to the deserving poor people.

Mr Hussain added that the poor and middle class Sindhis were deprived of their right to rule for years and Altaf Hussain was the first son of Sindh who had provided this opportunity to poor and middle class Sindhis by making them Senators, members of the National and Provincial Assemblies. It was testimony of his practicalism, he claimed.

Addressing the youth, he said “we are duty bound to collectively defend the rights of Sindh.” and pointed out that those who claimed to be the largest party in Sindh had done nothing for the people of Sindh.
