ISLAMABAD, June 10: One-third national sports federations have requisitioned the extraordinary general body meeting of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to consider the issue of suspending the powers of PSB director general.
Up to 22 federations, out of the total 76 in the country, have sent the requisition to the president of PSB who has to convene the extraordinary general body meeting within 30 days of the requisition having been received by the headquarters.
The requisitioning federations are affiliated with Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) or PSB.
The POA-affiliated federations requisitioning for the immediate convening of general body meeting are POA, rowing, bowling, shooting, squash, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, alpine club, baseball, softball federations as well as DG Sports, Punjab, DG AJK, Minister for Sports of Balochistan, Col. (r) Younus Changezi, and Director Sindh Sports Board.
The PSB-affiliated federations are Adventure Foundation, athletics, badminton, billiards and snooker, bridge, chess, equestrian sports, handball, hockey, judo and karate.—APP
