LARKANA, June 9: The anti-corruption establishment on Thursday raided office of the Rice canal (division-I) executive engineer and seized record relating to the construction of the retaining walls of the canal. ACE deputy director said that after collecting evidence, a raid was conducted in the presence of a judicial magistrate and relevant record was seized. Also, bills suspected to be forged were sealed for verification and the officer concerned asked to provide related record.

An amount of Rs37,170,000 was sanctioned for the scheme but only Rs26,910,423 had been spent by preparing fake bills, he said, adding that an inquiry in this regard had started.—BoC
