Impressive win for Mehran Club

LAHORE, June 8: Two goals each by Awais and Asmatullah propelled Mehran Club, Islamabad to 5-1 win over Pilot Club, Azad Jammu and Kashmir at the POF Sports Complex, Wah, on Thursday. The losers got off to a fine start taking 1-0 lead when Rashid Butt scored a field goal in the 11th minute.

Awais scored the equaliser in the 33rd minute as both the teams were tied 1-1 at the breather.

Mehran Club dominated the proceeding after resumption and started the four goals burst.

Asmatullah scored back-to-back goals in the 51st and 68th minute while Hamza chipped in with a goal in the 65th minute as the lead increased to 4-1.

Awais struck his second goal in the 70th minute to complete the tally.

With the win Mehran Club joined POF Wah as leaders of the pool ‘B’ with six points each.
