The Sindh irrigation minister said the government would not spare those found involved in water theft no matter how influential they might be.

The secretary-general of Sindh PML said the government had sought help of the Rangers to check water theft and corruption in the irrigation department.

Sardar Nadir Akmal Leghari said that he was satisfied over the quality of work done so far at the Sukkur Barrage. The Sindh minister said he had been against favouritism and that was why he had not transferred or posted any official during his tenure as the irrigation minister.

He said education and health facilities would be provided in the district giving priority to Daharki and Mirpur Mathelo.
