Unfair Hesco practices blamed for breakdowns

By Our Correspondent

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 8: Officials of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation, have been accused of providing additional supply of electricity to influentian people in the town at the cost of common consumers who are suffering because of frequent power breakdowns and repeated and unannounced loadsheddings in certain areas.

Talking to Dawn, a number of people alleged that Hesco officials were minting money by illegally supplying power to influential people to run their air-conditioners.

The residents of Naushahro Feroze on Tuesday faced a tough time from mid-day till 8pm in the evening as a result of repeated power breakdowns.

The consumers complained that Hesco was resorting to an unannounced loadsheding to cover line losses occurring due to illegal connections.
