Wapda, SSGC triumph
QUETTA, June 7: Habib Bank, Wapda, Army and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) scored victories on Tuesday in the General Musa Gold Cup hockey. Bankers defeated Customs 2-1. Ejaz Rasool and Haider Hussain scored goals while Ejaz Yasir reduced the margin for Customs.
Wapda outclassed National Bank 4-2. Javed, Zakir, Waqas and Asif scored one goals each for Wapda while Mohammad Nadeem netted both the goals for National Bank.
Army downed Riazuddin Eleven Balochistan 4-2.
Mohammad Hassan (2, Mohammad Salim and Azhar were on target for soldiers.
Kamran and Sabir scored the goals for the losers.
World’s highest goal scorer and penalty corner specialist Sohail Abbas and Ishtiaq struck for SSGC as they edged out Higher Education Commission (HEC) for whom Kashif Saeed scored the consolation goal.—APP
