KARACHI: Illegal bus terminal

KARACHI, June 6: The Karachiites have already inherited so many problems yet another factor is adding to their miseries in the form of illegal bus and taxi terminals and that too in residential localities. Though one can witness these terminals in every nook and corner of the city, but the blocks no 74 and 75 of the New Karachi are one of the worst hit areas.

According to local sources, the illegal bus terminal of route no 4 on the double road adjacent to these blocks had turned into a safe haven for drug addicts and criminals and had become impossible for women to pass by the illegal bus terminal, they protested.

Students, especially females, are continuously under a threat due to lack of security. They area people have also contacted the concerned authorities but to no avail.

The normal phenomenon of creating garbage dumping sites near terminals is evident from heaps of garbage littered everywhere between block 74 and 75, the area residents deplored.

The residents have urged the concerned officials to take notice of their grievances.—PPI
